Carbon60 is actively seeking a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team working for a global construction based in Whitstable. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per year, along with numerous benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Role Purpose:

As a Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be Working within a team on an account or on specific project supporting in the day to day running of all commercial activities ensuring delivery is in line with company and customer expectations, all whilst being supported and allowed to develop your knowledge and skills.

Key Responsabilites

  • To work within and alongside our commercial teams as well as the wider project teams in a positive, can-do manner.
  • To continue gaining a broad understanding of all commercial practices, processes and procedures including those specific to ISG and the Client through day to day activities and specific training.
  • To work alongside the Commercial Managers and learn from their day to day activities and interactions with the Project and Client teams.
  • Attending sites and meetings as and when required in order to complete commercial activities, to meet the team and supply chain, to gain knowledge of the project, understand progress and change as well as for your own learning and development.
  • Assisting in the production of high level budgets, cost plans and cost advice.
  • Assisting in all procurement and supply chain activities including preparing and issuing enquiries, analysing subcontractor tender returns and placement of orders.
  • Assisting in managing change control during the project(s) with both the client and with subcontractors and the supply chain.
  • Assisting in producing cost reports, valuations and final accounts.
  • Updating all cost control aspects of the project(s) using the appropriate cost reporting systems.
  • Manage the communication of all necessary information
  • To start commercially managing your own projects or packages with the support of your team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Graduate - experience and degree qualified
  • Non-graduate - experience whilst studying part-time on a degree course or suitable HND course.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages
  • A good communicator - able to use a range of communication skills
  • Passionate about work, committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
