Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.

They have a new and exciting opportunity for a Scheduler.



Outline Job Profile

Provide the Projects with regular, clear and concise product progress, resource and facility management schedules. Forecasts and comparisons with actual usage to ensure project timescales and resources are managed effectively to meet customer and management requirements

Main Activities

Provide unified schedules for Project & Operation Managers to asses the total picture. Support the Project Manager in attaining up to date project progress information to consolidate schedules and identify critical paths. Provide advice on alternatives and work rounds based on analysis of the schedules. Enable effective resource and facilities management of individual products and projects. Communicate with Area Managers on their expected performance activities on a weekly basis. Support regular monthly project reviews with Operations Manager

Additional Activities

Provide a time/resource activity schedule for each Project by each Product deliverable (including kits) using the Primavera suite of Project Management Software as the system tool. Provide management and customer schedules on Project/Product progress. Assist to develop and enhance the scheduling process and procedures. Direct liaison with all areas and levels of Management throughout Astrium, and as necessary with the customer, to gain data and report Project progress. Conduct and facilitate meetings on behalf of the Product or Project Manager (If required). Liaison with Area Managers concerning resource variance, which may impact schedule.

Reporting

Issue agreed frozen schedule on a monthly basis in time for the Monthly mechanical platform review and answer ad-hoc requests whilst assuring adherence to Company procedures. Provide monthly analysis of cross project facility or resource clashes.

Qualifications and/or Skills

Essential: HNC or higher in an Engineering or Technology or equivalent Business qualification. Project Control experience including creation and maintenance of schedule planning, in a complex multinational prime project environment.

Experience of Primavera 3.1 and 6.1 schedule software.

Able to work as part of a project team but, whilst retaining independence. Good Interpersonal skills such as presentations skills and communications.

Desirable: Knowledge of the design drivers and production processes associated with the design of spacecraft products.

Knowledge of spreadsheets in EXCEL

Previous Experience

Essential: 5 years experience using Primavera scheduling tools

Desirable: Experience within the Aerospace, Defence industries or Production Engineering.
